Serving Up Love

Serving Up Love is a four-in-one novella about the Harvey House Girls. In A Flood of Love by Tracie Peterson, Gretchen Gottsacker returns to her hometown in New Mexico to fill in at the Harvey House. Her ex-boyfriend shows up with a daughter. Will she be able to forgive him for leaving her without a word? In More Than a Pretty Face by Karen Witemeyer, Rosalind Kemp, who was introduced in More Than Words Can Say, signs on as a Harvey Girl. Hoping to transfer farther west she will try to outrun her past. But the past has a way of catching up with you when you least expect it. In Intrigue a la Mode by Regina Jennings, Willow Kentworth has been warned that strange things are going on around the Harvey House. She intends to not get involved until the new busboy asks for her help. And in A Grand Encounter by Jen Turano, Myrtle Schermerhorn leaves New York society to become a Harvey Girl at the Grand Canyon. Her vow of never getting involved with a man again is put to the test by a frequent guest of the hotel. Although each story centered around the Harvey Girl theme, they were all different. We learned a little bit of the history of the Harvey House’s without getting a big history lesson. The stories just seemed to flow without being rushed. It would be hard to pick a favorite. I liked Rosalind’s quiet nature, Willow’s resourcefulness and Myrtle’s spunk! I wish they could’ve had a book all their own.

I received this book from one of the authors for my honest review.
