Code Name Edelweiss by Stephanie Landsem is a stand-alone novel set in Hollywood during the summer of 1933. Liesl Weiss is a secretary at MGM. After losing her job, she goes to work for Leon Lewis, a Jewish lawyer. But working for him could get Liesl and her whole family killed. This story covers a time period in history that’s not widely covered; when the Nazis planned to take over Hollywood. The story was a little slow paced. There were spots of suspense. Liesl seemed to be a very unlikely heroine, but she got the job done. Her motto was, “If not us, who? If not now, when?” For a Christian fiction story there were a lot of secular things going on. Overall, it was a pretty good story.
DISCLAIMER: There was a lot of drinking, smoking, inappropriate dressing, and using feminine wiles to get information from men.
